Doug Katz started with film photography in the 8th grade while taking a yearbook class. This was his introduction to photography and the start of a new passion in his life. He continued taking pictures of sports and nature, focusing on the high school’s soccer team.
In 2001, he bought his first digital camera and worked as a photographer for the high school newspaper, taking pictures of sports, people, events, and other school related topics.
During the following years, Doug continued to develop his education in photography by taking college classes. He also worked on pictures of nature and portraits of pets. In 2007, he began taking pictures of his friends who model and also for local bands near the Central Coast area. This increase in photographic opportunities encouraged him to purchase an SLR digital camera to take higher quality photos.
Currently, Doug participates in a web site to meet aspiring models and help them develop their portfolios.
